🌹 Deepest Desires (Refined Version)
A wildfire through the forest—
Rampaging beautiful nature—
That’s what you did to me.
My heart was set ablaze,
My mind fell numb;
I could think no more.
I couldn’t wait for anything in the world.
I was once a calm and quiet river,
Flowing wide in tranquil grace—
Until the day you came into my life.
Was it you who dragged me down,
Or was it I who fell
From my fortress of restraint?
Now it feels like wandering through the unknown,
Where everything is painted blue,
And my journey stretches on forever.
Searching for hope
Is like a blind man groping in the dark for light,
When he should have stayed
Within the comfort of his home.
Is it God’s will that I should suffer,
Or your pleasure
To watch me burn in the flames of desire?
I do not know if God can save me from this—
But if you wished,
You could rescue me from ruin.
So I leave this choice to you:
Let me agonize for the rest of my life,
Or breathe some life
Back into my soul.
